I’ve heard at least one common tater complain that the amount of the settlement (and the plan for how to fund it) are entirely inadequate, and that’s the fault of (whoever was doing the negotiations) because they were so anxious to get a deal in place before the election.

So the company pays a fine — probably much less than the profits they realized from their “misbehavior”, — but the individuals who planned the program to deliver addictive drugs and pushed their employees to implement the program get off scot-free! (Apologies to real Scots.)

Will there be a repeat settlement when the next cover-up occurs of a bad drug by Big Pharma ? Will history and profits be repeated ? Who will get most of the money? The attorney, the government or the deceased loved ones family ? Will the people in Congress still take their campaign contributions and have the lobbyists write the bills to be passed ?

How’s Trump “Fast Track” plan for a Covid-19 vaccine coming along?

A major part of the pharmaceutical drug issue in the US is caused by what could now be called THE ORANGE IDIOT SYNDROME… The quest for a magical drug or elixir that will instantly cure all man’s ills. If a drug shows promise in addressing an ill, it’s all aboard THE MAGIC BUS!
