I’ve built websites from scratch using just HTML in the “bad ol’ days”. You’re lucky there are many tools available now that make it relatively easy. Start simple with one page and build your confidence.
At least she knows it. I’ve had to work on websites where the original author has no idea how bad their design is. “What’s wrong with salmon and green?” “That’s too much space between the text and the image.” “Shouldn’t the menu be on the bottom?”

Simple “FIX” idea…..hire one of the kids down the street to do it for you. It’s just scary how much kids know how to do these days.
