To get a different view, think of being on an airliner. The flight attendant is coming down your aisle with the food cart and asks you, “Can I interest you in the chicken or would you prefer the platter of fresh horse manure with bits of broken and ground glass mixed in?” To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked and if it is organic. The purity ponies would decline the chicken because it is served with broccoli and they wanted cauliflower. And since when is Rainbow Dash a unicorn?
‘Independents’ at their best are assumed to base their votes on careful vetting of each candidate’s overall desirability as potential patriotic leaders of America. In that, there are far too many who consider being an independent a virtuous, holier-than-thou position to take. Worse yet, there are far too many incapable of actual assessment.
At the extreme are the delusional “I’m not voting at all in order to maintain my precious bodily fluids” crowds.
