When I was a kid, the adults knew all the kids in the neighborhood and the kids knew the adults so we weren’t afraid of the home made treats. Mrs. F was also the lunch lady at school. We loved her home made popcorn balls. Mrs. W was the wife of the owner of an apple orchard. We loved her home made caramel apples. Mrs. S was the last house on the circuit, so she invited us into the house to warm up and drink a few sips of hot chocolate in demitasse cups. If the girls were well behaved, she would let us look at her doll house.
