“Silence of the Hams” is good. There are those who say that more debates are better, the more that Americans and the world see the Trumpo’s true colors, the better. Trouble with that theory is that his true colors have always been perfectly obvious.
An then there’s this: Ted Cruz is quoted as saying “Everyone agrees that Tuesday’s debate was a train wreck. A major contributing factor was the moderator Chris Wallace repeatedly interrupting to try to help Joe Biden”. Holy Mazola. If he actually said that, or anything like it, he’s more of a colossal slime-ball than we could have imagined. (And it’s rumored that he fancies himself on the Supreme Court.)
I read where Trump said he wouldn’t abide by the new rules, so good luck with that. Of course, since he contracted COVID, who knows if there will be any more debates. Also, even though I don’t like the man, I wouldn’t wish this disease on him or anyone else.
There are no words to express my feelings about the idea that instituting more rules would avoid a re-run during the next debate. If one does not observe existing rules, the solution is to create more rules? Politics may not give birth to insanity but it obviously is its most fertile ground.

The 2nd presidential debate is scheduled for 10/7. It’ll be interesting to see how it comes off, if it’s not cancelled or postponed.
