I’ve HAD a dream. Now, I’m having a nightmare… and it’s only partly because the smoke here is so thick that is actually set off our smoke detector. Inside the house. Governor of Washington (I think it was) said the (outside) smoke is equivalent to 20 packs of cigarettes per day. The rest of it is watching the Mango Mistake repeatedly prove that that title is appropriate. I really wish he wasn’t so damnably good at it.

Apparently they watched to boo. It’s a salute to tRump and a slap to equality.

I’m waiting for the covid cases to start bc letting people inside to stadium in a high risk environment is not going to end well.

Having lived in KC for half of my 80 years, you may be right about a significant portion of Kansas Citians, but I would go with closer to 25-35%. From what I have been able to see from 1000 miles away, white participation in the BLM demos and the six street murals around town, things are not as extreme as you suggest.

Missouri, especially the eastern part, was heavily settled by Kentuckians and other Southerners. St. Louis has often been called the northern-most Southern state. Kansas City has long been aligned more with the West than the South, no matter what that goofy arch implies.

Relentless inbreeding? Dim witted naive white laborers? Don’t judge a city by a portion of the 17000 attendees at a football game, most of whom can easily part with the $$$ needed to buy a ticket to an NFL game.

Bleak, but it’s how racists have always treated anyone in the position of stating facts or aspirations they don’t like.

I’m old and had a great life, the lack of a draft or mandatory public service has really screwed up this country. When. moscow Mitch screws y’all over it’s your own fault. good luck

A sad commentary indeed on racism in sports. I’m glad the athletes are united in solidarity.

Let’s take a look at objective reality: (1) Only a minority of the fans present booed.

    (2) The booing was shameful.

    (3) Kansas City has had many peaceful protests against systemic racism, and in favor of the ideals of the country: equal economic and legal justice, equal opportunity, equal treatment regardless of race, ethnicity, or socio-economic class. We’re a small part of the country but the protests (which included all races) that we’ve had in town could be a good example for large parts of the country.

    (4) Once again, the booing WAS shameful, and as a lifelong Kansas Citian, it embarrassed me.

I seem to recall a President being booed every time he attended a sporting event. Don’t think he’s a Kansas City Chief’s Fan. They’re all losers aren’t they ?

    /s (I didn’t forget)
