There is line in the song “Copacabana” that fits our situation here in Portland – “Who shot who?” But we do know that Tiny was the instigator – he never personally pulls the trigger.

Kyle Rittenhouse is like a tragic figure: spurred on by his mother, a father figure and a gang of harpies to perform an act that damns his life.

The man who is held for shooting right-winger Aaron Danielson to death Saturday night is Michael Forest Reinoehl. He’s a 48-year-old vet from outside of Portland, has been going to anti–right wing and BLM demonstrations for a while. He was cited at a demonstration in July for carrying a loaded gun in a public place, a misdemeanor, and no charges were brought.

They interviewed his poor sister, who got the first threatening phone calls before any official notification. He’s been estranged from his family for years, giving their addresses as his to get away from debtors. She said, “we always thought he is a lot of bark, not a lot of bite, but he’s also been very impulsive and irrational.” He also had been charged for reckless driving with his children, under the influence, with drugs and gun in the car.

Don’t worry about Kyle. Trump will pardon him. Worry about the reasons people are demonstrating, and VOTE. Encourage people to VOTE, rather than riot. Although demonstrators have every right and reason demonstrate and to be desperate with pain and rage, it is just playing into Trump’s narratives. If Trump’s thugs show up to cause trouble and there’s no one to shoot at, maybe they’ll shoot each other. VOTE! Vote like your country depends on it. Vote like it might be your last chance, but it might very well be.

Violence is to be decried, no matter from which end of the political spectrum it emanates!

The only “good thing” about this particular shooting is that both the victim and the shooter appear to be “white”, robbing Trump of a talking point.

Incidentally, the calls for the Oregon National Guard to be called up to patrol the streets of Portland is specious, at best – the federal government already tried something like that and it didn’t help one bit – it actually added fuel to the flames!

I’ve got a great (though radical) idea – why don’t we try solving the underlying problem CAUSING all this unrest! Let’s remove it from the bloody hands of the politicians that are trying to “milk” this for votes and try to actually find a meaningful solution!

And the FIRST thing we need to do is not DEFUND the police, but disarm the police!

For a statement from a REAL LEADER about the notoriety of the gun-toting cretins that kill innocent people, see:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nsIrHSR7lg

New Zealand’s PM says it best at 1:40 or so, speaking of the terrorist/gunman after he killed 50 people in a mosque:

“You will never hear me say his name. He is a terrorist, he is a criminal, he is an extremist, but he will, when I speak, be nameless. And for others I implore you: speak the names of those who are lost rather than the name of the man who took them. He may have sought notoriety, but we in New Zealand will give him nothing. Not even his name . . .”

The criminality of the “white supremacist” just keeps on getting whitewashed by the talking heads at faux noise….awwww….booo hoooo….the poor little baby boy…..egged on by his toxic parents (who are the ones who pointed their primed weapon at the protesters and should be held accountable as the ones who really pulled the trigger, etc.)…egged on by a toxic maladministration who uses “hate thy brother” as a political platform and celebrates every time a violent incident like this happens because Tiny is a sadist…egged on by talking heads like Hannity and Carson who care little or nothing for the human damage that they cause with their immoral rhetoric in order to up their ratings (higher ratings=higher pay scale). What about the implications of reverse racial profiling by the on-site police presence….white male carrying an assault weapon at a protest? If the armed male in question had been any color other than white, would the police officers have allowed him to walk around in a tinderbox situation? Allowed him to walk away after he told them “I just killed a man”? Hmmmm? Nope….if he’d been any color except white, he would probably not have long enough to get home. Sheesh….a black youth would have been dead on the spot. This is so twisted it makes me spitting mad.

When any black man is killed by police, they invariably scrutinize his history to see if he had a criminal past, and then use that as a rationalization for his killing. The “Patriot Prayer” right winger that was shot to death in Portland was known to police with a criminal history and frequently was arrested for diving into left wing rallies and starting fistfights. I will make a prediction right now, and I don’t think anybody here will call it a bold prediction; right wingers will whitewash his criminal history and hold him up to be an innocent martyr.

Armed right wing outside agitators, going to a city where they don’t live to intimidate people protesting racism.

The right wingers in Portland were shooting paint balls and pellet guns at people they deemed to be protesters.

Rittenhouse is no better than the “christian” who went into a Black church that was holding a bible session, listens, participates and then guns down 12 people.

I’m still amazed about a rightwing militia group here in Michigan, protesting the governor’s covid restrictions, clad in camo and brandishing assault weapons INSIDE the state capitol, were left alone by the police as this was a “peaceful demonstration.” Can you imagine what would have occurred If those protesters had been black?
