But is she content with the content? She’d better deliberate awhile as to whether his misspellings are deliberate. On the other hand, before she decides to contest his expertise, she should consider whether she’s up to the contest.

Almost screamed at the hand reaching out to grab me in panel 2! Thankfully I was able to thrust a water bottle into her grasp and escape.

Great art work. I was absorbed in the story telling, and after reading it all my eyes dropped to the hand and I got a bit of a start.

American English (as opposed to British English or even Canadian English, eh) lesson for the day…. American English seems to make no sense sometimes (yes, I’m in the US)

English, what a cobbled up mess of original and “borrowed” content.

“Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain”. My mother was packed off to Sullins for “finishing” (which irritated the living bejeezus out of her) where one of her teachers firmly instructed her that the correct pronunciation of Iowa was “aye-OWE-uh”.

I used to enjoy that song with the line about “You put the ac-CENT upon the wrong syl-LOB-ble, and siii-iiing” . But recently somebody dug up a clip of an old original performance, by somebody like the Andrews Sisters, and pointed out that the stress variation is supposed to be instructions for putting on a Jamaican accent.
