America and the entire world were treated to a sneak preview of “coming attractions” while Trump was running for President. All his enablers that supported him wanted something in return. In order to accomplish this he needed first to divide the country knowing what each would want most. The South’s greatest fear was having a person of color become President as well many others across this nation. The evangelicals and many fine Christians who believed God was “on their side” wanted everyone to think the way they thought and could use the Bible to cherry pick any verse to prove they were doing was God’s will. Never questioning why this candidate broke most of the Ten Commandments. They rationalized segregation, Cain who killed Able was somehow Black, God didn’t want people of a different race to marry or go to school together or forced busing. The most recent rallying cry was abortion and of course not having to bake a wedding cake for people of the same sex and the classic of not issuing a marriage license in some areas even if the person in charge had once been married to two men at the same time. Coal miners would continue to work in a dying industry, steel workers would get their jobs back, auto workers would as well. Something for everyone. A chicken in every pot and a good five cent cigar. Plenty of promises to go around. Each group only cared for themselves and paid no attention to the needs of others like the others given promises.
It’s difficult for many to see their Chosen One had no Love for anyone or anything including them, just Greed. Stupidity is a tough pill to swallow. Refuse to wear a face mask to show you’re “undying” support as you go to the food bank and drop the kids off at school to get their lunch and possibly that virus that’s just a hoax. What have you got to lose ?
Trump’s legacy: 164,313 US Covid deaths, and counting. And he sees it as a personal misfortune, wonders “Why are they doing this to me?” Then he goes golfing. The P in POTUS now stands for Putz.
