    3 1/2 years on the USS Nevada without home leave. My dad didn’t think he deserved a military funeral.

    He got one. Miss that man

    My Dad, who was at Pearl Harbor (after the attack), Was in Navy airplane matainace AND (he said) “To scare the Japanese away from trying anything else.”

    My Dad was in the atomic bomb squadron. He worked on the Enola Gay after it came back from Hiroshima. He died of pancreatic cancer, which was a known consequence for Atomic Veterans. My wife’s father shot down Admiral Nimitz at Pearl Harbor because Nimitz’s pilot didn’t know the correct password for the day.
