The ‘sweet smelling taste buds’ thing is sort of like the samurai, before going into battle, would burn incense in his helmet so if he is killed in battle, his head will smell sweet when brought before the winning commander. This was done so as to show prowess in battle and receive his bounty for his kills.
It puzzled me too, then i got it. I think she is holding the perfume in her mouth, and is humming, not whistling. Humming, not to attract attention, but to be like “I am of no concern to others.”
If you’ve got liquid in your mouth, you can only hum…. which makes sense. Then she will spit it back into the perfume bottle after her luggage goes through.
All I can say is yech, that’s got to taste bad. But clever…
