Hobbes may need Susie’s help to catapult that giant snowball. (Since Hobbes’ liveliness is imaginary.) Also, Susie would launch it in a heartbeat.

It won’t happen this way, but in reality, Hobbes’ snowball is too big for that catapult. At most, it would go far enough to land on his own head

Hobbes inserted his special ‘claws’ into the contract! Did you read the fine print, Calvin?

I can’t believe you are bringing physics into this discussion. The character is a talking stuffed animal. I think bending the rules of physics should be permitted..

No way I’d mess with Hobbes. He makes a much better buddy than an adversary. True for anyone I guess, but ’specially Hobbes.

@cdward,Unfortunately for Hobbes, the whole neighborhood thinks that he is only a stuffed tiger. Hobbes has less leverage with them than he has with the catapult.“Plaster” might work better than snowballs for Calvin, since he is such a lousy shot.

“You may fire when you are ready, Gridley”, er, Calvin. Don’t wait until you see the whites of Hobbes’ eyes! That probably would be too late.

Extreme effects of global warming in Calvin’s neighborhood. Some people say the summers will be warmer near the equator, but winters will be more extreme near the poles.

Gnasher Slasher …. Congratulations on being first today.

I don’t know why gmartin997, Muzition, and dimeadance have taken the time to make a rude comment but didn’t take the time to learn that you are in Singapore where it is noon while it is midnight on the east coast of the US.

I see you chose Gnasher for part of your ID. You must be a fan of Dennis The Menace’s dog.

Betcha the big snowball lands on the house with the usual results – maybe Calvin should adopt a new character: “Mr. Destructo”. It would certainly be easy enough for him to do.

The last panel reminds me of those old Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons when I was a kid. Only instead of it being a giant snowball, it was a big boulder coming right down on top of the coyote’s head. Will the same thing happen to Hobbes??? Well, at least if it does, snow will be a whole lot “softer” than a big, heavy rock!

There were two different strips called “Dennis the Menace” — one in the US, and one in the UK. The US version had a dog named Ruff, and the UK version had a dog named Gnasher. The US Dennis and Ruff don’t look anything like the UK Dennis and Gnasher.
