If they were red crossbills they could do damage to Scratch, Henry could say “go for it”

A wee bit off topic but chickens are birds, so…

My doberman got out the other day and started tearing after my poor little hens. I was screaming for the hubs to come help but he couldn’t catch the dog.

So there I am yelling things to the chickens like “Run Ginger, RUN! Use your wings, Duchess! Use your WINGS!”

    Yeah, chickens can’t fly.

So the hubs finally tackled the dog who was all “Dum de dum dum dum! I am a good boy, I saved the peeples from the feathery dinosaur birds, dum de dum!” while I collapsed to the ground shaking, with screaming pains searing through my chest, trying to catch my breath thinking “That’s it, this is how I die. Right here, right now. i am going to have a heart attack and die over Effing chickens”

    Yes, I said Effing.

Anyway, nobody was hurt, the chickens got treats and mummy had a good, stiff cuppa.

Oooh and Scratch got a new jumper!

Off topic but I am wondering what the human crew find so fascinating with staring at the 3 white pages like that nearly everyday. If there were some actual news writing on those pages, Henry wouldn’t be able to read them holding the sheets like that.

I’m having a horrible time with my bird feeders this summer. First, daytime: the grey squirrels and chipmunks have taken over the feeders. I chase them off – once about 15-20 of them. Then at night, the raccoons take over. I started to bring all the feeders in at night, which is a hassle, so I went out and spent $ for a metal, squirrel-proof feeder, where the step closes with the weight of a squirrel and shuts off the seed slot. It’s been 3 days now, and the birds won’t come near it. Back in March-June I had hundreds of songbirds enjoying my bird feeders, along with hummingbirds. Now I’m down to zilch, thanks to the squirrels and raccoons.
