A better analogy would be if the humans were yelling at each other about their dogs barking.

One dog barks at something. Then all of the other dogs bark at the barking.

I hate to actually admit it — but that is me yelling out to my dog, Emma. She barks and gets every dog in the neighborhood going — even those in their homes. I usually have to drag her in after she ignores me several times. Sometimes she barks while I am yelling at her. She loves any kind of attention – even bad attention!!

They often don’t consider what they are doing is encouraging them to bark.
