Bad things happen when the police treat the public as their enemy, show no trust or respect, do not act honorably, use force and intimidation, are not convicted of crimes that members of the public would be (blue wall) … yet expect to be obeyed unquestioningly. Small wonder they feel overloaded.

Those who risk their lives to serve and protect receive a tiny fraction of the amount raked in by politically connected desk jockeys who give them their orders. And we wonder why there is so much corruption in major metropolitan law enforcement agencies.

I thought “Oversize Load” was the sign they put on Trump’s back when he goes for a walk.

The way to solve the looting, rioting problem is to figure out that the rioting is NOT the problem, it is the reaction to the problem. The police have always been the community paid employees of the respectable members of society. Respectability was largely determined by how much money a person had. The son of the owner of the local factory could get away with just about anything. The girl he raped was probably asking for it. The speed limit- oh well, boys will be boys, the fight obviously was the other guy’s fault. The police have accepted their role as the newer version of the castle guard. It isn’t only Black people who have been treated like the enemy of the respectable people, it’s anyone who isn’t considered part of the upper class. There has never been justice in this country. Not that this is confined to this country, it’s worldwide. Some people have always been more equal than others.

Referring to Buffalo’s mayor not mentioning that we call police when elderly citizens are assaulted on public streets?

The news has been bad and all connected. We have seen once again that the police are organized NOT to protect and serve the citizenry but to protect and serve the 1%. We have seen that they (both the police and the 1%) see normal citizens and the enemy. And we have seen that the 1%, led by the orange abomination, is ready to jettison any pretense of democracy and go straight to despotism.

Fascist Trump has taken over the WH and Lafayette Park with his illegal shock troops. Could you ever imagine such a thing would ever happen in this country?

Republican traitors are just beyond words.

It’s like someone turned up the sound up to 11 … and he did.

He could shoot a man on Fifth Ave and not lose a single vote. He could promote the bullying of minorities across the country and not lose a single vote. But he could not mishandle a national crisis that is killing over 2000 a day indiscriminately without his base taking notice. The man with the bullhorn has gone silent on the Covid-19 crisis.

Yeah, first the Orange Menace and all who support him. Then climate change (or did I get those two reversed)… and all the bad snit this administration has done to make the country weaker, less prepared (in reality) and more divided. Then Covid-19 and how IT was mishandled. Now race riots. What’s next? Murder hornets? Oh. Right. Armageddon pretty tired of it too.
