Val: Rena - who moved all these projects onto my desk while I was sick?
Rena: I don't know! I didn't see anyone go into your cubicle...
Rena: Someone must've done it AFTER HOURS.
Val & Rena: Dickerson.
Dickerson: Valerie! I missed you too!

Sacha from Alexander is by shortening to Xander, then doubling the first sillable to make a pet name –> Zsazsa –> Sacha.
How the name Dick evolved from Richard, I don’t know…
Edited due to massive double entendre.

Nabuquduriuzhur…. I think a well-placed compliment might do the trick. Or, if he’s like most men, smile at him….

I don’t even know how some names get shorten the way the are. For a name like Fredrick to Rick.
I wasn’t off sick but after a week especially yesterday I wished I had been. Val just be glad you have all that work to keep busy. The guy that pushed on you has less to be done himself. Though he is sneaky.

Dick comes from the German version of Richard, which is Dietrich, you shorten that into Dick,, I know that because my Uncle is named Dietrich, and we all call him Dick.

Remove the second and third syllables from his name and you have his personality.
