French onion dip was invented in Los Aageles; it is not a ‘thing’ in Europe. Also, what Americans call potato chips were invented in the UK, by William Kitchiner.
I have to agree about French onion dip. It’s awesome! Although dill dip is really good, too. A lot of times when a recipe calls for sour cream calls for sour cream, I use French onion dip. Obviously not if it’s a recipe for something like a sour cream cake, but you get the idea.
