I considered going into law enforcement when I was young (a long time ago) and have known a pretty fair number of officers, deputies, and troopers whom I respect and understand. I also remember about 55 years ago watching a police sergeant (in full uniform and cap) remove his billy club (yep, that short solid wood club) and beat someone to the ground and then walk on as if nothing had happened. Broad daylight on a somewhat busy street. No words exchanged, not even a change of expression. Almost no one blinked an eye (out of callousness or fear I couldn’t tell at that age). They aren’t all bad but certainly neither are they all good, which is exactly like every other bunch of people. There are cretins and psychopaths in all groups.
I do have to admit that I don’t quite see the efficacy of burning and looting local businesses to make a point… whether the protestors are Black OR White…
I found the 3 companions of the officer complicit in not attempting to stop the murder. Since they believe in “instant” justice, they should be burned at the stake right now. No due process for them !
Many suggested that Aubrey Ahmad should have “cooperated” with the vigilantes attempting their “citizens’ arrest” although no crime had been committed. George Floyd did “cooperate” with actual police officers although no crime had been committed. Ahmad and Floyd both wound up dead. This prompted an immediate response from our leadership in Washington; Do NOT fact-check my tweets! There. Problem solved. /TS
It makes me angry that I no longer dare trust the police.
It makes me angry that friends of mine spend their lives having to be careful – even frightened – of police.
It makes me angry that people my tax dollars pay for see themselves entitled to indulge their racism, petty power, and outright brutality without penalty.
It makes me angry that many police power structures across this nation think it is more important to defend all police than it is to preserve the integrity of their roles and their department by eliminating and condemning the people they call “one bad apple.” As someone put it, when 10,000 police refuse to condemn one bad apple, then there are now 10,001 bad apples.
It makes me angry that someone wearing a particular blue uniform can get away with murder because of that uniform.
It makes me angry that, instead of rising up as one in anger about the misuse of their role, an echoing silence comes from police chiefs across this nation.
And it makes me angry that others are willing to accept and even defend this.
The images of the U.S. shown to the rest of the world these past few weeks are showing a nation lurching towards chaos. Racially motivated killings, a PINO melting down when the utter falsity of his tweets was pointed out, a COVFEFE-45 death rate too high because of lack of PINO leadership.
Yes there are cases of police brutality against African-Americans – even murder – but looting and burning (particularly your own neighborhoods) discredits your cause.

African Americans, or as the ‘President’ said of the protesters…thugs. His KKK dad would be so proud.

At a time when advanced education is mocked by certain politicians, we should be prepared for yet more brutality.

Welcome to your right wing police state.
“When the looting starts, the shooting starts,” tweeted racist Trump the hot button moron.

The White House has to tell us what Trump ‘actually’ was saying when he makes a statement that was hateful. You didn’t hear what you heard.

How much of the riot was egged on by agent provocateurs?
Did you see the pictures of the man breaking windows identified as a policeman?
