Our local ice cream parlor has a lot of open space next to it. There are widely spaced picnic tables around it. as my wife and I drive by, we notice that they do a good business.
We have a facility painter here, who drilled a 1/2" hole into his respirator mask. A mask to keep you from inhalling dangerous paint fumes. He apparently had been smoking in the paint booth for years without anyone noticing. When we started a mask sanitation effort after Sars-CoVid-2 became rampant, and people were coming down with Covid-19 Disease, it was thought that we should collect his mask, too, and sanitize it with the other types of masks. Normally the painters have been responsible for their own masks upkeep. Well, when the cleaners saw the hole in the mask, they were very concened. When we examined it closely and realized it had nicotine stains on it, we knew what he was doing. We confronted him, and he said, he should have the freedom to do that, that Mike, his old boss did that for years, and he trained him. Well, “Mike” his old boss dropped dead at 42, when we told the painter (who was 41 when we caught him) that, he was shocked. He thought Mike was 70 or 80 years old.
