And in the NHL (and probably NBA), I suspect most playoff teams had already taken payments or deposits for playoff tickets. They also sometimes take money for next season, giving the right to buy playoff tickets now. All of that is a lot of refunding.

Don’t fret. The baseball owners will somehow manage to survive.

Boy, with slashed incomes how are all those professional athletes going to pay off their student loans?

I’d hate to be an athlete right now.

“Loads of money lost” means loads of money not being spent, meaning someone (loads of people) are saving loads of money, right?

How are those multi millionaires going to survive? And yes, most players don’t make that much.

Millionaires and billionaires arguing over how much money they get or don’t get doesn’t really concern me at all. Shoot, don’t play and don’t get any money, I love baseball but it’s just not life or something other to me.

I don’t particularly feel sorry for the professional athletes possibly having to play to empty stadiums, but I do feel sorry for the thousands of auxiliary workers who will lose their jobs because of it. The vendors, parking lot attendants, box office personnel, etc. These are the people who will be affected the most and who can least afford it.

I’m not worried about the players. I’m worried about the people who work behind the scenes and won’t be making anything.
