Total BULL Mikey…. In fact, again, the latest additional (small biz) stimulus originated in the Senate and was just passed Tuesday. It is expected to be voted on by the House on Thursday…not much of a delay!. You know that many of the members are back home because of distancing on the House floor…. so they’ll have to be called back if it’s not a unanimous consent…..If small biz dies in the mean time it’ll be because most of the previously allocated money went to medium size and large businesses that franchise…. utilizing that loop hole so they could claim they had fewer than 500 employees and they also took advantage their cozy relationships with the banks to outmaneuver the small businesses …. something GOPers could have easily predicted but kept silent about!
Let’s see. Socialism bad, GOP is against Socialism, helping people is Socialism, Small business is people, GOP Socialism is good. So if everybody is a business. GOP supports Socialism. Is that right?
The whole enchilada, a trifle of what will be needed, was used up in two weeks after the money was made available. Overall, 10 billion of the original 349 billion small business relief plan went to banks as fees for processing the transactions that transferred the relief funds to the recipients from the government; the bank fees ranged from 1 to 5%. For example, Ruth Chris got 10 million and Chase got a $100,000 fee for this one time transaction. The banks claimed that they needed these fees to pay for vetting of the disbursements and employee salaries and overtime pay. (NPR Morning Edition) Obviously, this situation was entirely Pelosi’s fault as Ramirez’s cartoon depicts. Meanwhile, Moscow Mitch is fussing about the magnitude of deficit increase cause by all this pandemic spending and Ol’ Punkinhead wants to “open up the economy” so that a second wave of the pandemic will start; and it’s sure to be much worse than the present one.
GOP cartoonist Ramirez Lies Like A Rug. Pelosi was fighting for MORE $ for small businesses and it was his GOP henchman who were fighting to limit payments to tsmall businesses. Michael never tires of not telling the truth.
And you did so well yesterday; is your toon drawn by 2 different people? Your guy doesn’t want anyone knowing where the first bailout went. Hedge fund managers always need more money don’t ya know…
You keep your head in the sand like that Mike and it will be WORSE and WORSE for small business while your party takes all the money for large businesses. “Party of Life” my ass.
Pelosi: Trump ‘engaged in distractions’ amid ‘total failure’ on testing
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday night renewed her criticism of what she called President Trump’s “total failure when it comes to testing,” saying that it has impeded the federal government’s ability to respond to the coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking on “PBS NewsHour,” Pelosi asserted that Trump has engaged in a series of “distractions” and “misrepresentations” in order to deflect responsibility for the handling of the virus’s spread in the U.S.
“What is impeding the federal government from addressing the COVID-19 crisis is the president’s denial, delay in all of this, and that has been deadly,” Pelosi said. “We are insisting on the truth and the president is engaged in a series of misrepresentations to the American people and that is the impediment.”
You know, Michael Ramirez is a CONSERVATIVE political cartoonist, which is his prerogative. It is somewhat amusing to me that well over 90% of the comments left about his cartoons are from people with more liberal views. I am glad that they are willing to look at a different point of view, but PLEASE stop all the vitriol. If you don’t agree with him, you don’t have to look at his cartoons. Accept that every issue has different viewpoints. There must be some element of truth in his cartoons or they would not create such hate filled responses. If you don’t agree with him, fine. But no reason to spew all these mean spirited responses.
Typical, blame anyone but the so called POTUS for our problems. How different would the situation be if the idiot in chief had listened to and acted upon the expert advise his administration was receiving? How many lives could have been spared? With a proper federal response we could have had extensive testing and approach reopening the economy with confidence.
Hey MIkey…you mean Moscow Mitch don’t you…After all it was Good Ol’ Turtle Face who made sure his fat cat corporate friends got first dibs on most of the relief funds making sure the ‘Mom and Pop’ stores and restaurants got nada…Why don’t you go to Ruth’s Chris Steak House…have a great meal..then go to Shake Shake and have a vanilla milk shake…and finish by taking a crowed subway train home…don’t forget to lick the hand straps and subway rails….You really are a disgrace…you deserve King donald the Liar….
Wow Mikey. Just when I thought you were growing up. Blaming even one single instance of covid-19, much less a death, on Pelosi is too stunningly partisan and ignorant even for you
Covid-19 has killed 47,000 Americans. Nancy has killed nobody. And a huuuuuge chunk of that 47k falls right on Trump’s empty skull.
You should’ve drawn a comic of Nancy killing the ice cream in her big expensive fridge y’all are so enamored with. It would’ve been 200x less intellectually dishonest than this shit.
Let’s ignore the facts that the large companies with big bank ties gobbled up the money first. Banks have made billions on making the loans… Small business is being killed by big business and big banks.
Ramirez and his ilk use “Pelosi” like left wingers use “McConnell”. The main difference being how often “Pelosi” is just a symbol compared to how often “McConnell” really is at the heart of the problem.
