National Time Refund Day. We get an extra day to do things we’ve been putting off.
National Time Refund Day is all about reclaiming our time. That means you can celebrate it by doing the things you enjoy most! Spend time with family, volunteer, start a new book, go outside, or work on something you may procrastinate on other days of the year, like doing your taxes or bathing your dog.
But whatever you do, remember that it’s all about making the best use of that refund. We can’t create more time, but we’re fortunate to get some back. Use it wisely.
Well. I’ve already done my taxes, but there are things I’ve been putting off which I can do today. Her are some of those things:
Change my furnace filter
Put Fronline on my cats for the fleas
Replace the windshield wipers on my car (if I can figure out how to do it)
Finish cleaning the closet that I started cleaning a few days ago
Clean my kitchen
Clean my computer room
Fill my bird feeders
Sort through some clothes I haven’t worn in a long time and put together a bag of stuff to donate to St, Vincent’s
I have enough trouble avoiding them on the floor. Hate to think of one under my feet & the other hovering over my head-with a hamper full of clothes or my dinner!
We’ve had Blackjack coming up on two years now. He’s waited this long to be naughty. It started with the last batch of kittens when he discovered the bag of kitten food in the linen closet in the kitten room. It’s one of those bi-folding door.So we moved the food out of there. Didn’t stop him from trying to get in, though. Last night I’d fallen asleep in the recliner in the living room when I heard a noise. The stinker was on top of the tv cabinet moving around Brads’ western/cowboy things. There are only a few things and luckily I shooed him off before anything landed on the floor.
This morning at 6:30 we heard CRASH! He’d managed to get that bi-fold door open enough to get his big old body on on a shelf and knock a glass candle holder (with a candle) to the tile floor. After cleaning up that mess, we took all glass items out.
He’s now discovered what the whipped cream can is. He knows the shredded cheese bag and I give him a few shreds in the morning while I fix breakfast. I have to put them on the floor on the other side of the kitchen or he’s under my feet.Last night I got some sugar free jello and the can of whipped cream out. He was on me like white on rice. I wonder why it’s taken him so long to figure these things out or become a pest. I showed him the address of the shelter and told him I know how to drive there so he should think twice about doing naughty things. He ignored me and went to sleep.
For those of you who commented yesterday that you aren’t on Facebook, I understand where you are coming from. I am a retired teacher and believe it or not, many of my students in my last few classes (2004 to 2009) talked me into creating an account as a way of staying in touch. I realize it was intended mainly for Millennials to use but we Boomer also use it to the chagrin of it’s creators. In my extended family, there are only 2 who refuse to use it. We have even created a family group page that’s closed to the general public.
Now there’s something you don’t see every day! I wonder if Chesney can do a loop de loop? On another note, saw a robin and a sparrow while out walking today. (No flying cats, though.)
