I wonder if Mr. Esiason ever gets tired of hearing that. “The Impatience Of Ol’ Number 7” would be a good song title.

The only place “Boomer” should be used is at the University of Oklahoma where it’s followed by “Sooner”!

I am a boomer, and, as a group, we deserve the jab, or better, a kick. We started out by changing the Nation and the world. In the middle and late 1960s racism and bigotry were the sins of our fathers, not ours. We ended the draft, ended a war, lowered the drinking and voting age, and integrated our society.

Then we sold out. And the apex of that sell-out was the election of tRump, McConnell and the Republican/conservatives.

conservatism should have died out with McCarthy. conservatism should have died out with Nixon. conservatism should have died out when Reagan crashed the economy in the worst since 1929. conservatism should have been dead and buried after Bush2’s two wars and an even worse crash since the 1929 Depression. In fact every Republican/conservative president since 1929 has had a recession or depression, some had two.

But, out of greed and self serving selfishness, we boomers joined conservatives and elected tRump.

    It is shameful.

I’m a leading edge Baby Boomer, born in early ’47. Still liberal. Attempted insults are just that – attempted and roll off. I figure what they said says more about them than about me.

On a different note, The “Far Side” is online. So what? Unless I can put it into my daily rotation and click on it to look it’s just a banner taking up space on the page.

It means exactly the same as “OK, grandpa.” when said by a younger person to someone to whom you are not related. It is usually intended as a sign of disrespect. “Wisdom” has been devalued by the Internet, because the young, who grew up with online access, assume it is the same as “knowledge”.
