After a senate sham — the first impeachment (out of 17 in history: 3 presidents and 14 judges) ever to be completed with zero witnesses or documents allowed because the Republicans knew all evidence would be incriminating — Trump is most definitely NOT EXONERATED.
All potential witnesses who were willing to testify under oath (many of whom did so in the House proceedings) asserted Trump’s guilt.
All potential witnesses who asserted Trump’s innocence refused to say so under oath.
No person who is innocent blocks all eyewitnesses who could exonerate him and obstructs all evidence that could clear him.
The vote to convict was bipartisan, from senators representing 18 million more Americans than represented by the senators who voted not to convict, and even some Republicans who voted not to convict conceded that Trump was guilty of the actions he was accused of and that the actions were wrong. Some senators, from both parties, represented states where Trump had won by significant margins (Alabama, West Virginia, Nevada and Utah) and where he remains popular, but followed their consciences despite the political risks.
The bipartisan vote to convict was the first time in U.S. history in which a senator vote to convict a president from his own party.
The vote against conviction was a pure partisan party-line vote.
He was never exonerated. They say he’s not to be punished, but they cannot change the facts. I’m not a Romney fan, but he’s obviously a lot better man than I thought he was a few days ago.
All of us knew how this was going to end up. Why bring it in the first place there is a difference between 1974 and 200 we are so polarized among party lines no one was going to vote differently except Mitt Romney. What a waste of time this impeachment
It was very disheartening to watch so many Republicans turn coward and lie to keep such a rotten individual in office! This tells all of us what sad shape our morals are in! And in the months to come you will see these poor morals transferred to the minds of our children as well.
How can one not say the timing was perfect to slip in some high morals from Mitt and God its self. You believe in it Mitt you go with it. Keep it up I say.
Did I say I delivered Pepsi to his high school teacher’s lounge?
What would today’s GOP say if these guys walked in, told them what they believed, and asked to join: Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Tom Dewey, Dwight Eisenhower, Barry Goldwater, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney?
The impeachment trial is over with the (as expected) acquittal. However, in the days, weeks, and months ahead, there will be a steady flow of incriminating testimony (from Bolton and others) that will stain the orange buffoon and his spineless minions. The truth will come out in depth. It is up to the voters to remedy this nightmare that the republicans refused to!
“Never was so much owed by so many to so few,” who have the courage to stand up for our republic. Just unbelievable and frightening wherein America finds itself today.
Romney is the only Senator that is/was afraid of the wrath of God should he take an oath in vain. Shows just how “Christian” those other senators are. Well done Mitt for staying true to your religion.
White House Toad: I am innocent. Impeachment is a hoax! I have witnesses and documents that prove it. I just choose not to let them be seen. BUT THEY PROVE MY INNOCENCE! The number of sane people in the US is declining at a scary pace among Repulsicans.

Romney gives America hope by showing us that Republicans don’t have to bow down to the holy turd.

Apparently Mitt Romney is the lone Republican with a soul and conscience and backbone to do the right thing. I have more respect for him now.

Mitch was the only Republican to honor his oath, as he noted. That pack of lies deserved to be shredded, not just halved.

Utah while a Republican leaning state has little use for trump. Mitt is safe and enjoyed repaying trump for his fake offer of the Sec of State job.
