My best summer was that of my 16th year. My mother had refused to let me get a driver’s license and I was visiting my grandparents and instead of letting me feel sorry for myself my grandmother took me to ground school with my 14 year old cousin, made us study, pass the tests, and then gave us flight lessons. When I got home I had my license, my pilot’s license. Nothing my mother could do about it. Now I have my multi and instrument ratings as well.
