Kirk is having Scotty beaming him directly into the new blond ensign’s quarters for a little captain time.

In the original TV show, the catchphrase was “Scotty, beam me up”. “Beam me up, Scotty” came later from the animated cartoon version and the movie sequels.

“Beam me up, Scotty” is a catchphrase that made its way into popular culture from the science fiction television series Star Trek. It comes from the command Captain Kirk gives his chief engineer, Montgomery “Scotty” Scott, when he needs to be transported back to the Starship Enterprise.

Though it has become irrevocably associated with the series and films, the exact phrase was never actually spoken in any Star Trek television episode or film.

Despite this, the quote has become a phrase of its own over time. It can be used to describe one’s desire to be elsewhere, technology such as teleportation, slang for certain drugs, or as a phrase to show appreciation and association with the television show.

Like the transporter, the elevator is just simplified storytelling. Plus, the stage guys who opened and closed that door would mess up at times, and Shatner would splat his face. What’s not to like? Most of the stage crew hated Shatner because he was a sexual creeper of the young guest stars and female crew. One story involved a boom mike which “accidentally” pulled off his toupee after he cornered a girl and made her cry. Humiliation at its best and most deserved.

Maybe he’s addicted to that tingly feeling.

Inter-ship beaming was done in one episode. And he never said “Beam me up Scotty” ever. Close but no cigar. It was in one of my favorites, “Day of the Dove” when we finally see female Klingons.
