When you have to put down a phone number on a form, land lines are the way to go. Then all the spam calls go to your land line and you can ignore it! :)
We really could have used a landline during our last power outage! We had no power for two and a half days and the cellphones and our wireless “house phones” all ran out of juice!
We dropped our land line last year. We don’t miss it. It was through the cable company. We had to go through some negotiating to get a package with no phone that was cheaper than one with.

Wife wanted a “landline” (I think it’s VoIP) when we switched cell phone providers. I have not seen her use it. $13 a month wasted.

There’s one reason I keep a POTS line. Hurricanes.
