Well, leeches have legitimate modern medical use. Snipes are real birds and some people actually do hunt snipes (although I doubt they taste very good).

Perhaps we could replace those very real things with something like alien abduction and Hollywood “moon landings”.

My favorite looney toon conspiracy theory is NOT that the Loch Ness Monster faked the moon landing while having Elvis Presley’s love child. No, it’s that Republicans, once upon a time, long long LONG ago, put country before party.

These people are SO damn dishonest (dishonesty is hard-wired into their DNA) that it really doesn’t occur to them that at least some people are honest. That’s why Mulvaney publicly CONFESSED that Trump committed extortion in order to receive a bribe from an ally he was (illegally) BETRAYING, by withholding Congress-approved (and desperately needed) military aid. (It’s very sad to have to point this out, but withholding Congress-approved expenditures is a CRIME.) Mulvaney, in his confession, told us to “get over it”, and then was shocked, shocked, that a few honest people NOTICED that it was a confession of a CRIME. (Trump, of course, had already “confessed” in the “transcript” of his original extortion/bribery/betrayal phone call.) Exactly like when Trump committed obstruction of justice by firing Comey: his dishonesty is so complete, and he therefore considers it so normal, that he was completely baffled that he didn’t get the praise he was expecting for firing Comey. This would all be funny if it weren’t so tragic, both for the present and the future—unless honest people damn well rise up and DO SOMETHING!

Rad-Ish is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT; however, in so far as “leeching” is concerned, poor Jack Ohrman is POSSIBLY WRONG if he directs his criticism at the first of the definitions which follow. There are two recognized forms of “leeching”: (1) leeching (the use of leeches) is used in contemporary medical therapy to stimulate circulation to salvage skin grafts and other threatened tissue; (2) leeching (computing) is using others’ information or effort without providing anything in return, i.e., stealing. If Ohrman means that the Capo-in-Chief’s and the GOP Leadershit’s corruption includes stealing, then he’s spot-on.

The rest of the Republicans will never catch up to Trump’s lies. It looks like they are trying now.

Republicans have zero defense of the president’s crimes.
