The charge to the jury in Zimmerman’s trial consisted of two primary points. Was Z in a place where he had a legal right to be, and did Z have reason to fear Martin. The jury had almost no option but to find Z not guilty given that charge. But if Z’s story about M attempting to take the gun from him is true, and if M had done so and then killed Z with it then M likewise should have been not guilty. How does anyone defend a “stand your ground” law that does not take into consideration who brought the gun and who initiated the confrontation? Is it likely that M would have received the same “not guilty” verdict as did Z?
Clay Jones turns out so many cartoons that I can’t really complain much about the fact that this isn’t all that interesting compared to the impeachment. And really, this is pretty awful too:
George Zimmerman files $100M lawsuit against Trayvon Martin’s family and Florida prosecutors George Zimmerman says he was maliciously prosecuted with “false” evidence.

Seriously? The murderer who got off in a racist trial using a racist defense is now suing the victims?
Trayvon Martin’s family needs to countersue for wrongful death.
Remember how O.J. Simpson got acquitted in a trial but then lost a civil lawsuit by the victims?
Same idea.
The burden of proof for winning a civil judgment is a far lower threshold than for a criminal conviction.

I can’t like this but I can certainly shudder at the irony of it. What disgusting man Z is.

Ah, but his record has been soooooo good since he got away with cold-blooded murder of an unarmed kid.

The law never ceases to amaze me. That the courts would even accept such a case is appalling.

If someone were to shoot and kill Zimmerman could they then sue his family for $100 Million? Asking for a friend.
