Millions? Does someone walk around and count them? BTW, how many are killed by the windmills? The WaPo claims that up to nearly a billion birds are killed every year flying into windows in the US (mostly in homes and smaller buildings – not skyscraper windows). I suspect one of their fact checkers walked around the country counting them (NOT). I guess from the WaPo’s take, people need to tear down their homes, small businesses need to tear down their small buildings and we should all live in caves. Thanks, Adrian. Although it’s not practical to expect the world to do away with all windows, we can do some things to help our little feathered friends. Architects for these big business buildings need to get on board with this.
Why doesn’t P.E.T.A. and the A.S.P.C.A pool their resources to research for windows that will deter the birds from flying into them. Ignore the wind farms they’re politically correct. As long as they’re not in Robert F. Kennedy’s JR backyard that is.
