A lot of “kids’ movies” & cartoons are full of references that go right over kids’ heads, giving the grownups something to enjoy too. PJ always called such flicks “too good for just kids.” My dad used to LOVE Rocky & Bullwinkle for that reason.

Given the length of time from the death of Nemo’s mother and the beginning of the movie, I can only say it is most inaccurate.
