The man would be just as insane, just as much a felon and a traitor if he stayed behind the curtain. But he loves being in the spotlight, so we also are treated to him being boorish, hateful and rude.
I see I wasn’t the only one to associate that pontification with the Wizard. OTOH, I believe Baum’s wizard had more integrity than this venal, treacherous gasbag.
In many rural districts, it exceeds 50% by quite a bit. And, these are the people who actually know that they are wrong but " if loving him is wrong, they don’t want to be right." So, proving Trump to be guilty of everything isn’t going to change their devotion to him. If you are a representative from one of those districts, you are insuring your own political future by adopting that same attitude.
