I have no desire to stomp on a good joke, but I feel compelled to say that the long face is to be able to browse in long grass while still keeping a eye (or two) out for predators.
He did jury duty once. Perhaps you’ve heard of the novel based on it… “Twelve Angry Horses”. To decide the verdict, they all had to vote yea or neigh! (Groan… sorry to saddle you with that pun.)
