Fritz: Bixby, you can't go on strike, you're not even in a union! Bixby: Then we'll unionize!! Fritz: I thought you'd say that... so I brought you the guidelines for forming a union, the forms to fill out and a list of lawyers and their fees! Bixby: You really know how to take the romance out of this, man... Fritz: Happy filing!

There’s discipline in the Union too, Bix. And dues.

Who convinced the people that unions are bad? That’s one I can’t understand.

All this dumping on apocryphal stories about bad unions. Without unions we have seen wages drop, benefits disappear, and safety rules vanish. Owners pit us against one another. They sell us the line that jobs are scarce and we should be grateful for the few crumbs we get.
Any corruption by individuals in unions is minuscule compared to the corruption by the owners.

You don’t need a formal NLRB recognized union to go on strike.
