This reminds me of a satire that Mad Magazine did about 30 years ago, a phony magazine titled “Passionate Gun Love”. The magazine had a headline, “A .30 caliber varmint rifle completely stripped down!”
Humor aside, I’ve always found that firearms owners are the nicest people around.
i am so tired of extremists. Why do we either have the people who would outlaw cap pistols or the people who think everyone has a right to 100 cannonsin each room of his house. Can we, just once, talk sensibly?
A cop pulls you over in your car his request: “License and registration, please.” Sensible for cars, or guns. Some states also require proof of insurance-on the car. There is a difference between those who own guns, and those who worship them- the NRA portrait is pretty accurate to their positions. No Rational Alternative, IS their mantra.
I share your longing for a sensible dialog on responsible gun ownership and gun control. The problem is that “sensible” doesn’t grab headlines; extremists and nut jobs do.
There’s nothing wrong with responsible, law abiding citizens from owning a pistol or hunting rifle. I applaud them do doing so in a safe and responsible manner. Having said that, why does ANY responsible, law abiding citizen need with automatic or semi-automatic weapons? What legal purpose does it serve? What type of person needs so called “cop killer” bullets?
Obvious confusion from the fraternity who thinks only they have inalienable rights under the constitution. Monolithic media interests who are the receivers of most of the campaign funds used for ‘advertising’ …obviously they desire constitutional relativity except when it concerns their ‘rights.’
The people have a Constitutional right to arm them selves & form militias, which, being well regulated, are subject to Courts Martial & the international rules of war. Turn all gun crimes over to to the nearest Judge Advocate General.

Nice art work Chris. But also grossly biased and a total misrepresentation of law abiding gun ownership.

Again, someone glosses over the real reason the gun nuts are so passionate.

Jase, locally a letter to the editor answered your question. Paraphrasing, “I need an AK-47 because the 3rd Infantry is armed with M-16s.”

Okay, putting the silliness of the toon to the side… I have to admit that some of those signs were kinda funny.
