That wasn’t a strange dream – that was a nightmare…

Today the trunks are black, but the treetops are bright!!Rover will come with Red or they stand on earth both!!

That wasn’t strange, it was sad.

A trip to the moon is no fun if Rover stays home!

Just a thought, do cartoonists draw Asia, Australia, etc. when they draw the earth from space?

Actually a good simile for how this comic is going. It used to be about a cute as heck little dog. Now it’s all about the kid!

This strip sometimes makes me sad/nostalgic. I can’t help but wonder how Red would function someday without Rover. Similar (but different) to how I would feel sad contemplating what Calvin would be like someday after he outgrows his stuffed tiger. Since I grew up with a dog who I missed terribly after she died and stuffed monkey that I carried everywhere when I was little, I think about this stuff. That’s right…I had a stuffed monkey!!!…you wanna make something of it?!?

Dogs weren’t allowed on the trips to the moon. Weight was and still is at a premium.
