As the late, great radio DJ and “Laugh-In” star Gary Owens used to say, “They have come to Barry Manilow, not to praise him.”

My last dentist listened to the Christian rock station. That was almost more painful than the bill.

I’m pleased to report that my dentist does not play music, nor any artificial background noise of any sort.

Duane Has my sympathy. I used to like Manilow until I had to listen to “The Copacabana” for over an hour.

You know, some people LIKE Barry Manilow. I know this because, 1) I like Barry Manilow, and 2) Barry Manilow still performs in concert (at least, as of 6 months or so ago).

What is wrong with Barry Manilow songs?

One of the great commercial jingle writers of our age.

I’d rather listen to Barry Manilow than the damn television ‘news’.

I’ve been to the dentist more often than I’d like this year. But this comic makes realize that at least he has no radio, TV, or Muzak in the waiting room, or in the rest of his office. A small blessing.

On the other hand, I also had to visit the endodontist a couple of times. They had a TV going in the waiting room, but when I was there by myself, they muted it when I asked.

The only Barry Manilow song I remember is Copacabana, which isn’t bad.
