Both of our cars have ashtrays, but neither came with lighters. My van has a socket in the ashtray and a “power outlet” on the dash. Oddly enough, they are both ‘on’ all the time.

Guess the cup holder could be an ashtray and the cigarette lighter is a power outlet. Many things gone, but replaced with much nicer things such as automatic windows, turn signals that seem to be all oer the car so that thye are not missed, AC and heater that heats, cruise control, and anti-locking brakes.

When we got rid of pennies in Canada we managed to find $40 worth, do the math. We are still finding some.

The ‘76 Faimont I bought new did have an ashtray, the ’85 GTi that replaced it didn’t have an ashtray, but did have a lighter that I plugged the radar detector into.

Talk about a funny world, those coin counters at the store, they separate the various denominations to count them. Then they go into one big bin in the bottom. When the armored truck picks them up, the vendor or bank must separate and count them again for rolling and shipment to a bank.
