Actually, what we have here is a government hoist on their own petard. If they hadn’t been so intent on rewriting history, the massacre at Tiananmen Square could have served as a “chilling” warning – but the rank-and-file Chinese have no knowledge of what transpired at that location in June of 1989. Just another case of those who don’t know history being doomed to repeat it.
Usually, in history, once a people has had a taste of freedom for a few Generations and then have that freedom taken away, what usually happens is … wait for it … Rebellion … resistance … total rejection of Total Control. If this country were to lose the freedoms that it has through the actions of some of its people, you better believe that the rest of the people would rise up to re-establish freedom… in the cycles of history you see the pendulum swinging from one extreme to another… Blessed are those who live in the middle of the pendulum’s Passage for they live in a time of serenity secure in the knowledge that life is just as they want it. It’s for the other Generations to have to suffer through the extremes of the pendulum.
I’m pretty sure they’re warning about firepower here.

A run-away mob is hard to stop… respect for order must be reestablished.. this will not end well.

Love may win the war, but brutality wins all battles. This will not end well for the protestors, nor will it end with them.

Now, come on. Why would a Communist ruled Country want “freedom”? We all know how much better Communism is than Capitalism. Right?
