Another tiresome trope. As if providing health care to everyone is equivalent to buying everyone a big screen TV.

It seems that Mr. Gorrell gets a kick out of beating a dead horse. Free stuff is ancient BS.

GradingGorrell 8 minutes agoland of the freeand the stuffhome of the brave

This is the same cartoon as

    https://www.gocomics.com/bobgorrell/2017/03/21

just flipped horizontally and the donkey resized smaller. the paint drops aren’t even changed.

whether the writing on this is good is subjective. Is “liberals wanna give people ‘free stuff’ look at how ridiculous and crazy that is” good writing?

Gorrell’s target audience may not get it, but everyone else knows that “free stuff” is paid for by taxes. Raising taxes on rich people currently not paying their fair share, and sure maybe everyone else too.

    But let’s do some math

    According to this article

    https://www.npr.org/2019/07/30/746805856/the-democratic-debate-over-medicare-for-all-and-middle-class-taxes-explained

medicare-for-all could be paid for by a 4% income tax (a tax increase!? the horror!)

A person making $50,000/year would pay $2000/year extra in taxes, but would in turn receive a healthcare plan including dental care and vision with a $0 deductible $0 copay $0 max out of pocket

all for $167/monthI dunno what you are paying for your beloved private health insurance plan, but $167/month sounds pretty great to me.

No more worrying about whether a doctor or hospital is in or out of network, no anxiety about whether a test will be covered, or if a trip to the emergency room will result in a huge bill. No more having to resort to gofundme to pay medical bills. No more having to battle health insurance companies while also battling illness.

Right Bob. ONLY REPUBLICANS SHOULD GET FREE STUFF LIKE THE FARMERS

This year US farmers votes will be bought by DJ Trump and the republicans to the tune of 16 Billion dollars of OUR TAX MONEY!

It’s not like a rising tide lifts all boats. Much of the money will go to millionaire farmers. The top 1% of farmers will receive payments of $180,000. That’s a great welfare check from Uncle Sam.

The Dems will never be able to elect people in the Midwest or the Dakotas as long as the farmers are bought and paid for by the republicans.

    Your Tax dollars at work.

Can I get $180,000 worth of free stuff FOR NOT WORKING???

My Republican state senator is posting on facebook how Matt Bevin is approving road projects all over the state. Since this is all pork provided by Mitch McConnell from the federal government it doesn’t even cost Bevin a thing to give away “free stuff”.

Simpleton. Why is it so hard to understand that taxes will pay for the services? The same taxes that aren’t being collected from the corporations and the 1%. They not only get to keep their tax money, they steal subsidy monies from the treasury besides. I would rather pay for health services and education than yet another bomb, a Big Agra farmer who is paid to NOT grow crops, or no-bid government contracts.

Apparently, the GOPist meme of the week is “The bad old Democrats are for free stuff.”

Like all GOPist memes, it’s basically a flat lie, though they work hard to inflate it.

Must be the lie of the day. “Free Stuff” is a right-wing meme from the Republican propaganda machine. The only “Free Stuff” are the tax giveaways to the corporations and the wealthy.
