I love the total lack of subtlety from Ramirez as he puts the budget in the Democrats hands.

But I guess BS is his signature. We wouldn’t recognize his work without it.

Except neither party is actually asking for anything from the taxpayer at this time. It’s the future taxpayers that get shanghaied.

Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling I wonder how much of the military’s end of the budget can go to Donnie’s vanity wall?

The elephant wants to give 75 percent to the military industrial complex, the donkey only 70 percent. Get the waste and price gouging out of the military budget, before you cut any other programs.

So let’s borrow more money from China. Deficits and debt don’t matter when Republicans run things.

No, this is great; we can now spend a few trillion dollars on aircraft carriers, missiles, and tanks to defend ourselves against those Russian computer hackers….

Want to guess who the GOP will blame if a Dem wins in 2020?

Maybe they could take a stab at putting Social Security on a solid footing now. Start with taking off the contribution limits for those earning more than 200K per year.

@EdMeiller: “Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling I wonder how much of the military’s end of the budget can go to Donnie’s vanity wall?”

The Supreme Court did not say that Trump’s diversion of funds was legal or even Constitutional; they only said that those bringing the suit did not have valid standing to do so.

So who does have such standing, and why are they not bringing suit?

One more publick interlectial who doesn’t understand the first thing about the budget ceiling. Apparently in ignorantia pecunia.

That said, the “budget deal” in question is in truth a disaster waiting to happen, just not for the reason implied by Mr Ramirez.

Note that the GOP wants to use tax $$ from the working middle class and use it to support the very rich. The Democrats want to use more tax $$ from the obscenely rich and use it to support all of us. The picture is in that way a flat lie.

The Dems did vote with the GOPs to raise the debt ceiling because they’ve seen what happens when the GOP decides not to pay the government’s bills. As they have done in the recent and not so recent past. However, when the Dems are in power (as they are not now), history shows us that they have consistently lowered the debt (or at the very least reduced the rate at which it’s growing). When the GOP is in power (as it is now), the exact opposite is historically true: Spending goes up without any corresponding increase in income.

Gotta love it: The SCOTUS rules that money appropriated by Congress can be used to build trump’s vanity wall and in response Congress increases the defense budget to cover the shortfall.

Trump isn’t enamored of the wall, but his constituents surely do.
