Bringing life to the never alive is harder I’d say than reanimation of the dead. And in the original novel Frankenstein didn’t use lightning (It would have to be of the cosmic order of lightning) is just said to be “life giving machines” and no more is said. The resurrection is not shown. Just the large form beginning to show signs of life. Why he went the extra parsec by creating a piecemeal corpse instead of just some poor sot who is intact is just her bravado as a story writer.
