If only we could declare our independence from xenophobia, white supremacy, and nationalism and make America whole again. My Republican grandparents who invited immigrants into their home are nothing like today’s “Republican” party. Who has corrupted them and to what useful end?

White Supremacists are crawling out of the alleyways and sewers to join their beacon of hate in Washington D.C. for his celebration of exclusion and hate. The wasted millions of dollar could go a long way in securing our borders and alleviate suffering in the immigrant cages.
Weather report from the DC area. It’s miserably hot and humid, it is raining in my immediate area, and I am hearing thunder from all around. and we have a flash flood watch until 8 or 9 this evening for the whole region. Not a day to be out on the Mall unless you’re a masochist.
Too many of “us” are independent of empathy, independent of working together, independent of careful thought… and dependent on someone else to tell us how we should feel.
