IMO, agreement on household duties (chores) is second only to kids as a source of continual friction. Still, the cartoon reflects the terrible reality that we often marry without important stuff being clarified.
I married my ex thinking (partly) that since I couldn’t predict how she was going to react to anything at least I’d never be bored. I was right about the ‘never bored’ part, but the ‘least’ part turned out to be the incredible effort it took to communicate in either direction anything more interesting than “please pass the salt.”
My main feeling upon deciding to divorce was relief at last!
