This administration has clearly demonstrated republicans don’t care about democracy. The rule of law means nothing, they just want to win and dominate by any means. It’s their way or the highway.
People are saying “I just won’t answer this question” as a matter of principle. Now I’m wondering what would happen if they do that—would blue states (where more people adhere to such principles) lose representation as a result, while red states (where answering the question—in the affirmative, of course—would presumably stick it to the libs) beef theirs up?
GOP no longer need the citizen question in the Census. The Conservative SCOTUS ruled in favor of partisan gerrymandering. And as experts have noted, we already have systems in place that can determine how many US citizens are in this country and where they live. We don’t need a question on a document if the answer isn’t going to be verified. Does the government go back and verify the answers on the Census? Be honest.
Jones is either making a subtle point that I’m missing, or he’s incorrectly conflating the census — which is supposed to be completely apolitical and entirely about actually counting people — with ICE and this administration’s behavior anent people who don’t look or sound white enough.

The scary thing is, Justice Roberts is the most rational of the conservative members of the Supreme Court.

The Constitution called for an enumeration of the population, even slaves were “counted”.(yes, I know, not as “full person”).

The problem is that Wilbur Ross got caught lying. They now have to come up with a better rationale to cover their true intentions.

The census should be counting noses which can not be falsified as opposed to documents which can.
