    Don’t encourage him!

Sure, Trump’s bark is worse than his bite.

The mouth is bigger than the fist.

But thank the goddess that a rare moment of sanity swept over Donald Trump and, despite being egged on by chicken hawks John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, he had a moment of clarity, realized that killing 150 civilians and starting a war would be disproportionate to the shooting down of an unmanned drone and backed off.

Yeah, it is still terrifying that he came within ten minutes of allowing a catastrophe.

Yeah, he lied about how it unfolded. He said at the last minute he had the presence of mind to ask how many civilian casualties would result. Trump said the officer who briefed him did not have the answer and would get back to him. Which is, of course, BS. Casualty assessments are one of the first pieces of data that are developed. The officer would definitely have that. And other insiders involved have confirmed that Trump had been made aware of the casualty assessment much earlier.

    So the question remains…

WHY did Trump suddenly back off?

HOW did this rare, unusual moment of sanity suddenly infect Trump’s feeble mind?

Did Putin call him and order his obedient puppet to stand down?

If he had actually been thinking, he would have known launching an attack would result in deaths long before he had the planes ready to take off. Or he could have at least asked that question long before.

Trump’s negotiating style: Bluster, threaten, retreat, declare victory. The art of the deal.

This cartoon implies Trump is an empty gun. Personally he may be, but Donnie holds a loaded one in the US military. Hopefully he will have sense if and when he HAS TO use it. Not just with Bolton has a h***-on to frik Iran.

Trump prefers enemies who cannot fight back. You grab them from their homes, work or sometimes churches. You throw them in detention and rip their kids from their arms. The cage industry loves trump.

Anyone who’s served in the military knows that any combat operation plan is an extreme cost/benefit analysis; with casualties, both direct and collateral, being one of the first “cost” considerations. I find it absolutely beyond belief that, in the planning stages, the president was not advised of the anticipated collateral casualties. The president is known for not being very interested in “the details” being more absorbed in the “big picture.” Having to ask what the casualty count might be after the operation had been set into motion is, to me, utterly baffling! Then to boast about calling it off “with ten minutes to spare” is appalling. If he was not informed of this prior to green-lighting the operation, then his advisers are as incompetent as most of the other “best people” he’s surrounded himself with.

The Generals informed the Supreme Idiot of the real results of going to war over a drone.

Perhaps.. trump backed off because America was in the wrong with its spying drone.. Not a good hand to justify if and when the truth comes out.

We may never know precisely why he called off the attack. My guess based on his previous behavior is that he knew well before hand the casuality estimates (which were probably higher than those released) and merely timed making the call for maximum dramatic effect. With him it’s all about the show and the image. Problem is the margin for error and that he’s an even worse actor than Reagan was. He’s not playing with toy soldiers or a full deck.

    In the last 24 hours…

Trump almost started a serious war with Iran over a drone.

Conditions at the Republican Concentration Camps for Children get worse as the Trump admin denies them everything from soap to soccer balls.

ICE has announced that major deportations start tomorrow.

A journalist alleged the president raped her 25 years ago. There is a picture of them together.

The so called president threatened to put a Time magazine reporter in prison.

Wake up Nancy, do your job.

Make up your mind. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.

Or is it that you don’t actually care what he does or doesn’t?

As with his delaying the Iran strike, Trump is trying to get the nation to give him credit for not engaging in a stupid, reckless act: “I didn’t set your house on fire, aren’t I a good fireman?”
