My Ho Chi Mihn sandals had tire treads and the straps were from inner tubes.
I have some moccasins that have soles made out of conveyor belts, great grip and they wear forever.
Oh the horror, their making hi-end knock offs.

Got me huaraches in Mexico with tire treads way back in the 90s. Still good. Uncomfortable as heck but still good.
I remember those. I think my old man had a pair.
