It’s impossible not to conclude that Robert Mueller’s #1 priority throughout his investigation was the preservation of his Federal retirement benefits. That he kept friendly company with William Barr says it all when it comes to Mueller’s moral character and ethical probity.
If Mueller had only had the personal courage to set a new precedent, and indict a sitting president as HIS DUTY TO THE NATION CALLED FOR rather than being the good soldier and following accepted rules we could have a clear path out of this nightmare. Instead like another one great “good soldier” republican General Colin Powell his name will be remembered by history not for all the good things he has done but by one wrong choice of not speaking plainly to the American public and declaring that the president of the nation had to be brought to justice for the crimes he has committed. Another who’s name and honor has been permanently tainted by it’s association with Donald J. Trump.
redgreen says it rightly. MANY Americans voted for this demagogue, and STILL back him. Wealthy Elite support him and the Republican party as long as they protect their assets and continue to roll back regulations, laws and taxes. The United States is isolating itself from friends and allies, and Russia benefits. And good men sit back and do nothing.
