They still sell those at the local Home Depot – I remember only seeing those in old cartoons, wondering why a lawn mower would look like that. I know now that it is probably a more efficient and precise cut than a whirring hunk of steel… Speaking of which, I think I need to cut my grass today. ;-)
If I could get one that is easy to push, I would definitely prefer the old fashioned mower. My Dad had one that was impossible, but friends tell me the newer ones are much easier.

We had a Sears Silent mower. It wasn’t quiet and it didn’t cut very well, no matter how much my dad tried to adjust it.
