Nate doesn’t wanna ride with Kim because she’s forcing him to without a single bit of regard how he feels. This right here is the biggest flaw of this series. Some of these characters are just so mean-spirited, with selfish and immature moments that gives this series such a cynical atmosphere, that it can sometimes be difficult to find funny. Even if Peirce admitted that this is intended to be a sadist series, I still would have trouble laughing occasionally.
I just realized something! This whole Nate and Kim romantic or non-romantic relationship is a little like Paige Fox and Morton Goldthwait from FoxTrot. Nate/Paige has trouble finding a girlfriend/boyfriend (except those few occasions where Nate really did get a girlfriend), but Nate/Paige tries to avoid the one girl/boy who is romantically interested in him/her, Kim/Morton. Anyone else notice that similarity?
You could use this as aversion therapy, Nate: You and she ride the ride, she gets sick, and subconsciously associates you with getting sick. Your problem solved. Do it.
